The table is made in Burma teak wood with its natural outer bark intact. Other than that all natural cracks and crevices are carefully cleaned, sanded and finally hand polished in olive oil. This way every table is different, which is something the owner can be proud of. Cracks that seem to develop further and split the plank in future are bound with dovetail keys made in hardwood and inserted into the cracks. This method was used by the famous 20th century furniture maker- George Nakashima.
It stands about 13 ~ 14 inches from the floor level and allows you to sit in a cross legged fashion while having dinner. This posture is called ‘sukhasana’ in yoga, known to enhance digestion. The height also allows one to use it as a bench to accommodate those unexpected guests at your party.

care instructions : Ensure that there is no constant water contact anywhere. Clean with a dry cotton cloth to remove dust. Once in a few months it is a good practice to rub 2 ~ 3 drops of olive oil with a cotton cloth, to retain its natural sheen.
